How can I get involved?

Sustainable Manawatu envisions a community where everyone benefits from making ecological, social and economic sustainability a part of their daily lives.

Give us a call: 06 2802443!

SM encourages and empowers individual citizens, community organisations, schools and wider communities to become more sustainable. SM also provides information to businesses to show the real financial, social and ethical gains that can be made by companies shifting to future-based, sustainable practices. See 'Work with Us' and the volunteering sections of FAQ's for ways you can get involved.

Sustainable Manawatu provides trustworthy information to the public about ways to become more sustainable. Sustainable Manawatu maintains an easy-to-use database of links to information on all things sustainable and we offer a comprehensive range of brochures. The brochures' topics range from local environmental groups to join, to how to get funding for insulating your home, to how to protect bush on private land, to how and why to save water, to how to get children involved in conservation, and more.

Please come and see us at Green Hub, 160 Rangitikei Street. You are very welcome! We are a central point of information and we enable Manawatu people (and others) to engage with all things environmental and to connect with other people who are engaging environmentally. We welcome anybody who is interested and who wants to learn more about becoming sustainable. Of course, you can also visit the Sustainable Manawatu website and database from home.

Currently, Sustainable Manawatu sees Palmerston North and the Manawatu becoming more and more sustainable. Sustainable Manawatu hopes to contribute to the environmental synergy that exists in our Palmerston North and Manawatu communities by providing educational and inspirational environmental information.

Our team is diverse, dedicated and flexible. If you would like to join us, let us know: consultant@sustainablemanawatu.org.nz or phone 06 280 2443. We acknowledge the world of information is always shifting. We endeavour to maintain environmental sustainability information in the SM database that is current and useful across the following areas pertinent to living sustainably:
